the ancient Egyptians had a beautiful belief about death. When their souls got to the entrance to heaven, the guards asked two questions. Their answers determined whether they were able to enter or not. ‘Have you found joy in your life?’ ‘Has your life brought joy to others?'” –Carter Chambers, The Bucket List
I was at the NKOTBSB concert last night and it was over the top amazing, it hurts my heart. I got home at 12:30am and went to work this morning feeling like a zombie. New Kids on the Block stole the show in my opinion. I’m hooked on them.
I didn’t bother bringing my big camera and spent half the night figuring out how to work my point and shoot. I really didn’t remember how. The zoom was brutal. This was as close as I could get without producing complete crap photos. Nonetheless, a memorable concert that’s comparable to the Spice Girls comeback concert. Good enough to bring me to tears.
“The way for a young man to rise is to improve himself every way he can, never suspecting that any body wishes to hinder him. Allow me to assure you that suspicion and jealousy never did help any man in any situation. There may sometimes be ungenerous attempts to keep a young man down; and they will succeed too, if he allows his mind to be diverted from its true channel to brood over the attempted injury. Cast about and see if this feeling has not injured every person you have ever known to fall into it.” –Abraham Lincoln
You can’t be everything you want to be before your time.” From yesterday’s photoshoot. Cutest, cutest, cutest boy ever. What a pleasure to take his photos. I’ve been editing these sneak peeks for the past hour with a smile that I can’t seem to wipe off my face. I adore him!!! It was such a headache to pick which photos to post. Thank you for a lovely time, Chantea. Hope you like these!
Ahh, I’ve been dying to do my whimsical carnival photos ever since I saw Water for Elephants and finally, a start! There were no carousels at the festival I was at today and that’s a critical piece to this series. I’ll be going to as many carnivals as I can this summer – small ones here and there as we build up to the largest one, the CNE in August. This series will be available at my Etsy Shop. :)
I’m partnering up with Laisie for the third component of my little venture here – my photo frames. We’re putting our heads together for that one and have booked an arts & crafts date. We’re also reviving our e-book. We’re also going to Europe together. We’re also going to the Backstreet Boys concert on Wednesday.
Made another sale on my Etsy Shop, this time from Bernice. Thank you for your support, love. It means the world to me.
This rainy day has turned into a very productive day. When you’re stuck indoors, you’re forced to get some of those big to-dos out of the way. Does anything feel better than scratching things off a to do list? Tomorrow, I’m going to swing by the Bread and Honey Festival to get some carnival shots, inspired by Water for Elephants. While there are plenty of festivals and carnivals in the summer, this is the first one I could get my hands on. Then I have a photoshoot with a client to capture her precious baby boy. Then I have a date with this girl to hammer out the nitty grittys of our Eurotrip. A full weekend always rejuvenates me for the work week.
PS. There are chatters about planning a trip to Vegas.
I have sold a total of five photos so far from my Etsy Shop – I am SO, SO, SOOO excited.
Prints are now available for sale in 8 x 10s, 11 x 14s, and 16 x 20s, unmatted, unframed, and borderless, printed at a professional photo lab on quality, lustre-finish archival paper. Please revisit my Etsy Shop at charleneprecious.etsy.com for new listing details and updated Shop Policies!
I’ve broken my offerings down to two categories: 1) Digital Photo Downloads 2) Prints, just so that I can accommodate those who prefer one over the other. :) I am thinking of a third category – something to do with frames, I think.
Ahh – I feel great. I bought these rustic white frames today – I love them. There’s no glass, no backing, I have no idea what to do with them, but I love them.
until he comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow.” Goodbye May, hello June. June is all about prepping for my eurotrip in August and by prepping I mean shopping for the perfect outfits to wear in each city that I’ll be in and then everything else like booking the remainder of hostels, compiling a thorough to-pack list, and just getting uncontrollably excited.
