Mistakes make us want to curl up into a ball and hide under our blankets and never be spoken to again. BUT, they also make us learn hard and fast so that we are wiser today than we were yesterday. So, EMBRACE mistakes of all sizes because each one, so long as you’re learning from them, is a tablet of wisdom. Truly.

And naturally, life is brighter. A girlfriend and I drove around for a photo fun this afternoon and discovered a string of photo spots that we’ve now lined up for all of Spring. I’m ecstatic at the thought of Spring photography. And even more for Summer photography.

Missed a photo yesterday. And almost missed one today – but here it is, past midnight, because it’s better late than never.

I saw INSIDIOUS. I’m waiting for the next horror film that terrorizes me. The last one was The Fourth Kind and it haunted me in my sleep for weeks. I hated it but was also disturbingly satisfied at the same time, because it was indeed terrifying enough to wake me up in the middle of the night.

Because I’ve set my mind to it. All it takes is a renewed mindset, and just like that, it’s done. I will not give it room to linger in my skin and in my thoughts. I will only work hard and I will keep on working hard today, tomorrow, the day after, and the day after that. Hard work and a clear conscience is all I need to make it past all of life’s poison, games, and energy wasters.

Rise above it and keep doing your thing. Be consumed only by happiness and good things.

“I’m selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times, hard to handle. But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.”Marilyn Monroe

These quotes have nothing to do with the photos I’m posting. I just like them. And I like not making sense.

because it gives you the chance to love and to work and to play and to look up at the stars; to be satisfied with your possessions, but not contented with yourself until you have made the best of them; to despise nothing in the world except falsehood and meanness; and to fear nothing except cowardice; to be governed by your admirations rather than by your disgusts; to covet nothing that is your neighbour’s except his kindness of heart and gentleness of manners; to think seldom of your enemies, often of your friends, and every day of Christ; and to spend as much time as you can, with body and spirit. These are the little guideposts on the footpath to peace.”Henry Van Dyke

More from Saturday’s shoot.

My heart is beating only for Europe. You know how it goes – when I’m missing Europe, I pull out a photo. This was taken at a castle on a hill that my EuroGirls and I lodged in, in Rhine Valley, Germany. Too beautiful for words really.
