I’m a sucker for Valentine’s Day.
Don’t be mad at me.
Watched the first episode of Homeland and am completely hooked.
By Aretha Franklin. Kelly Clarkson performed a beautiful tribute cover of it at the Grammys – I’ve completely forgotten about the song. Loved, loved, loved it back then. And re-loving it now.
I don’t feel that the Lumineers got enough love at the Grammys last night so I’m helping spread the love. Watch their performance of Ho Hey here.
I love Mumford and Sons.
Chris and I spotted this lonely barn house during our countryside drive yesterday afternoon and I was wearing high heels and could not hike through all the snow to take a good photo. So he did it on my behalf. With a little bit of direction, he snapped away so credit goes to my love. :)
I was forced onto the road because of a quick but important errand and it was quite the drive. My car got stuck in a snowbank (created by plow trucks that had just gone by) in the middle of an intersection. Long story short, I thought I could make it over the snowbank because it didn’t seem that high – at the time, I was about a meter away from it and without a lot of time and space to react, it seemed like the better choice was to try and drive over it than switch to another lane with all these slipping and sliding cars. Call it bad judgement but it happened. So next thing you know, I’m completely stuck in it and have caused a bottleneck at the intersection. Then came all the angry and honking cars from all directions – nothing makes me panic more than angry drivers (lol). I had no idea what to do. I got out of my car and examined the snowbank to see if I could somehow diffuse it and also to appear helpless so that maybe a good samaritan would come around and help me out of this mess. No luck. I sat in my car for bit thinking of what to do, when suddenly a fire truck pulled up beside me and 4 firemen jumped out, ran to the back of my car, shouted “step on the gas!”, pushed the vehicle over the snowbank, and shouted again, “have a great day!”. And there I was, over the snowbank and completely rescued by firemen… from snow. I thought it was amazing.
I captured this bird from my balcony this morning. Quote by Frida Kahlo. She’s fabulous.
Tons of snow out there. Took me an hour and a half to get home from work – that’s outrageous considering my home and my place of work is in the same city.
I was checking up on my blog yesterday and found these strange advertisements half hiding underneath the images in my posts – mostly pharmaceutical ads. I freaked out a little bit but then calmed down and started investigating. Sure enough, I had somehow been hacked – a ‘Pharma hack’ script had been injected into my source code. Impressive yet completely mortifying. WordPress security has failed me. Worst of all is that I just don’t understand how companies could actually convince themselves that hacking and invasively planting ads of their products on people’s blogs is an effective (nevermind ethical) way of conducting business. It’s just absolutely bizarre.
