I took a photo of my art / photography / Etsy desk and my business / work / study desk because the difference is hilarious. My office in my future house is going to be one big oxymoron of art and business, both of which I absolutely love. These were shot quickly with my iPhone so pardon the quality. :)

Today I wrote my 6th GMAT practice exam and scored 630. It’s really a 620 though because I reached for the calculator for salvation for two questions where I was desperate and running out of time, that I would’ve otherwise gotten wrong.
I’m slowly but surely getting sucked in by Mad Men. The show is set in the 1960s, which is one of my favourite eras as far as visual style, music, and fashion, and that, along with the historical authenticity of the show have been a big draw. Love it!

I never used to be a TV show junky and I’m uncertain of the trigger, but in the last year, I’ve gotten hooked on Dexter, American Horror Story, The Walking Dead, 666 Park Avenue, and Breaking Bad, all of which come from a similar genre – a little bit on the darker side. American Horror Story, though, is by far my favourite – so incredibly twisted and filled with mental anguish. I can’t quite explain exactly what intrigues me about it and attracts me to it but the show makes you feel grotesquely uncomfortable and yet that’s precisely the appeal. It manages to radiate such chaotic emotion and turmoil. The best explanation is probably my general rule of thumb: if something (whether it be a show / film / song / literature, etc.) can evoke emotion of any type, I immediately appreciate. And sometimes, darker emotion trumps the others.
I am entering busy season at my Etsy Shop – I received 5 orders today. It makes me happy but anxious at the same time because December is going to be chaotic in every way possible and Etsy orders are but a drop in the bucket.

We were driving on the country road and came across a sheep farm. We pulled over (story of my life) and I ran down and climbed over the ditch to get closer to the barbed wire fence that was separating the sheep and I. The herd was conveniently hanging out by the fence; perfect for a photograph, I thought. But as soon as I reached the fence, I seem to have also startled them and they all went gallivanting away and into the middle of the field, putting them in a place that was too distant for a good photograph. So I walked to the nearest house in sight to bother a man whom I had hoped to be the owner of the farm. It turns out that he wasn’t the owner but (fortunately) knew the owner and generously provided me with his phone number. I gave the man a ring to ask to photograph his sheep and here we are. For the love of photography.

Went away to Rice Lake for a beautiful weekend that made up for my tough week. I know that I’m always harping about life and how much I love it but I really do love it. Mostly because I have the best people in it.
This is an abandoned house we ran into in Cobourg. We all know that I have a thing for houses in the middle of nowhere, so we obviously pulled over. More than once. We first pulled over in the morning when the sky was flat and grey and of course, I wasn’t ecstatic about the shots because ugly skies are the worst. So we went back in the evening at sunset and those shots were slightly better but still not my favourite. So we tried again the next morning and voila – third time’s a charm – the perfect amount of puffy clouds and baby blue in the sky. :)

It’s a tough week for this tough girl but she’s more than halfway through it.
I love and appreciate life and all of its growing pains.
Been so busy! The good news is that I wrote my 5th practice exam and scored 600. :) It seems like all I’ve been rambling about here in the last few posts is the GMAT exam. I swear I am close to reaching this milestone. December 29th is the day and you’ll never hear about it again. Check out the cute donkeys in the mean time.
