Everybody loves Prague.

August 19, 2011

Prague was obviously beautiful; filled with gothic-inspired architecture and gargoyles everywhere. But then there were also the softer, prettier things like the endless alleyways packed with cute walls like these that make perfect photo backdrops. I’m actually short on touristy photos in Prague because we were so caught up with hidden gems in little alleyways and making turns into streets where people wouldn’t normally turn in to because they think there is nothing valuable to be found in them. But there is!

The downfall of awesome Prague is the nonexistent friendly faces, customer service, politeness, common courtesy, etc. The Czech Republic as a former communist nation could have something to do with it. It took away from the overall experience.

This pretty in pink wall is available as an 8 x 12 print at my Etsy Shop. I also received an Etsy order from Brazil last night – super exciting. :)

Your vacation pics are so cute :) Eastern Europe is a different culture altogether… I think in Russia there is no such thing as “customer service” as we know it here… Shop clerks fulfill their duties without the “have a nice day”s and being all friendly. People don’t smile on the streets, it’s not customary for them to. But when you explain your situation, people ARE willing to listen, to consider, to accommodate a request… and what they lack in common courtesy they make up for with common sense. just my two cents :)
