What I loved most about Portugal is that it was beautiful in its natural environment. This is how they lived, this is their home, they’re not the richest, in fact, they’re poor. Their houses were run down, they hung their clothes to dry, they took their time, they go at a slower pace, take it or leave it. There was nothing flashy or vain or materialistic. Everything was simple and natural, like they’re not trying to impress you. This is just who they are and how they live and it’s naturally beautiful. Maybe they don’t even know it.
“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”
