Every song I sing, I’ll sing for you.

I edited a few things on the ABOUT and RATES page to reflect the little bits and pieces of changes in direction that I’ve had with my photography in the past month.

This is the closest I’ve ever gotten to one of these jet planes (are they jet planes?) They just look so cool. I’ve typically only been able to see the jet stream in the sky, not the actual plane. But in this photo, you can actually see the plane. It’s faint but it’s there.

I can’t believe it’s July. Only a month left until Europe and an EXPLOSION of new photographs to list on my Etsy Shop. It’s going to come so fast from here – I really need to work on my to-pack list and action them! By the way, I’m offering a 20% summer discount on all my prints! Check them out. New prints are listed DAILY. Just like my photo blog is updated DAILY. My shop is actually way ahead of my blog – I have to take the avid listing down a notch.

Oh goodness, I have to go find more circuses. I’m in love with them. Especially the tents. How do you wake up one day and decide you’re going to jump through fire hoops? Or run on top of a spinning wheel? Circus performers are incredible, including the trickster elephants and horses.

I am so relieved that Canada Post is back to work. I have eight packages to ship out and my prints are finally going to get delivered. This proudly Canadian circus photograph is for sale as an 8×10 print at my Etsy Shop. I’m at a humble 25 sales and can barely manage it. It took me three hours to finish packaging eight orders. Holy cow.

I went to the Shrine Circus today just because I wanted to feel like I was in Water for Elephants. :) Every character in the film was manifested in the real life circus and I loved it so much. I felt bad about myself though after ignoring the protesters just outside the circus tents, who were encouraging boycotts of circuses because of animal cruelty. I guess I’m a bit ignorant when it comes to that… I just appreciate all art forms and this is one of them…

Then I met up with a fellow Etsy seller for an awesome, AWESOME barter and some inspiration. I’m getting way too hooked on this for my own good. I’m sleeping at outrageous hours of the night because I’ve become a slave to my shop. Who knew that it would take this much effort to ramp up an online shop??? And who knew it would be this addicting? Canada Post better get back to work this week – my orders are backed up and I am feeling some anxiety (lol).

Available as a 5 x 5 print at my Etsy Shop for $10.50. I think this is one of my new favourites. :)

“Every city has a sex and an age which have nothing to do with demography. Rome is feminine. So is Odessa. London is a teenager, an urchin, and this hasn’t changed since the time of Dickens. Paris, I believe, is a man in his twenties in love with an older woman.”John Berger

“This is what you do on your very first day in Paris. You get yourself, not a drizzle, but some honest-to-goodness rain, and you find yourself someone really nice and drive her through the Bois de Boulogne in a taxi. The rain’s very important. That’s when Paris smells its sweetest. It’s the damp chestnut trees.”Audrey Hepburn

I remember Paris from last summer when my heart exploded at the first sight of the Eiffel Tower.

Set an open course for the virgin sea,
‘Cause I’ve got to be free,
Free to face the life that’s ahead of me,
On board, I’m the captain, so climb aboard,
We’ll search for tomorrow on every shore,
And I’ll try, oh Lord I’ll try, to carry on.

I look to the sea,
Reflections in the waves spark my memory,
Some happy, some sad,
I think of childhood friends and the dreams we had,
We lived happily forever, so the story goes,
But somehow we missed out on the pot of gold,
But we’ll try the best that we can to carry on.

’cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good!

13 humble sales at my Etsy shop! :) I’m meeting a fellow MISSISSAUGA Etsian this weekend to hand deliver our bartered items plus grab coffee and a snack and get down to some Etsy talk – I’m so excited! I’m so addicted. I’m not even profiting right now – just having too much fun and feeling warm and fuzzy knowing that I’ve put my work out there and there are… beloved patrons.
